Unlike their shotgun wielding brethren, these soldiers are not handicapped by a weapon which shortens their effective attack range.

The most commonly seen variant, Cloned Riflemen wield the M29 Infantry Assault Rifle, which can deal moderate damage at close range and cause some damage at medium-long distances. The flying and sniper variants only appear in Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope. They can be heard making inhuman grunts or groaning sounds when idle, and make snarls when they spot a target.Ĭloned Soldiers come with five variants the Cloned Rifleman, Cloned Shotgunner, Cloned Sniper, Flying Cloned Soldier and Flying Cloned Sniper. When not engaging targets, Cloned Soldiers occasionally patrol the streets of Cairo, in slums, or anywhere else Mental deploys them. They will also kick any obstacles that are in their way. If a Cloned Soldier is at point blank range, they will deliver a powerful kick to the target. The amount of damage they can take before dying varies with the difficulty level the game is being played on. Cloned Soldiers equipped with shotguns fire more accurately due to the shotgun's spread.

In combat, Cloned Soldiers fire their weapons with somewhat poor accuracy, though they can deliver many rounds to a non-moving target. During combat, soldiers will take advantage use of cover, crouching behind sandbags or obstacles or hiding behind walls, occasionally coming out of cover to aim down the sights of their weapons or fire at the player. Using these standard-issue weapons, Cloned Soldiers usually work in squads of two to six. When killed, Cloned Soldiers will occasionally drop their weapon or a clip magazine, which can supply up to 10 rounds of 12-gauge shells or 20 rounds of assault rifle bullets.Ĭloned Soldiers wield shotguns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles, as used by human forces. If a soldier has been mortally wounded, he will limp or crawl on the ground for a short while before dying. For instance, they still feel pain and flinch when they have been injured or shot, but they don't always let this hinder their performance, and will continue to shoot at the target, even when their health is low. Despite the manufacturing and implanted processes they have gone through, Cloned Soldiers still retain some human characteristics. They have also been stripped of most human emotion and intelligence due to their implanted LCU, which limits them to blindly pursue and attack their targets.

Their skin has been damaged, revealing exposed tissue, which appears to have been caused by acid or high temperatures during manufacturing processes. These soldiers have gone through significant cybernetic modifications and enhancements perhaps the most recognisable part of these modifications is the metal plating which covers most of the head, with five red mechanical eyes that act as sensors, which allow them to see in the dark or in foggy conditions.

Like in Serious Sam 3, they appear in most of the levels after their first appearanceĬloned Soldiers wear standard-issue camo body armor, and, like executed Sirian soldiers, have implanted life control units, which augments the brain and controls most high-level functions, such as to receive and obey orders from Mental's headquarters, and to prevent them from having any free will of their own.

The Sniper variant often appears in far-away areas and appears in small groups. In Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope, normal Cloned Soldiers appear in Pladeonic Oil Works, while Cloned Snipers first appear in Court of the Prophet.

Afterwards, they appear on pretty much every level except for The Guardian of Time. They are first encountered in Into the Spider's Nest in the Egyptian Museum's basement. Like Beheaded Rocketeers, they mostly serve as cannon fodder. Their main purpose is to distract the player whilst they are fighting more dangerous enemies, such as Kleer Skeletons. In the Cairo levels, they are sometimes positioned on top of buildings or bridges to make it more challenging to kill them. They are one of the commonest enemies in Serious Sam 3, often appearing in small or medium groups. These soldiers were then captured and heavily experimented on to suit Mental's needs.
